New center in downtown Chicago (Navy Pier)
« on: August 18, 2005, 09:45:48 AM »
I was invited to the grand opening of the Lucky Strike 18 lane center, that will be opening on Navy Pier in downtown Chicago.

I couldn't go had other business.

In the Chicago Sin Times, they show a hot blonde model bowling...the ball is on the lane...she looks like she delivered it...except, she was wearing 6-inch spike heels.

The Mayor was going to be at the opening and all the other politically-connected.

Bowling cost: $27. One game. Includes shoes, ball, order of fries, and one martini.

Who says bowling isn't growing?

Brunswick,Lane#1,Morich,Hammer,Ebonite,Columbia,AMF,Storm,RotoGrip......they all leave ten pins, I swear after I try dynothane and lanemaster if the ten pins still there I might begin to think it might just be
me...... (finally decided to add a signature)

I guess it goes along with the Ferris Wheel, boat cruises and fireworks.
It would be cool to see the PBA host a tournament out on the pier...Great view of the city skyline. Navy Pier has become a majot tourist attraction.

E McCracken,
I think the regular bowling price is $4-5 a game...This was also a Benefit.
Supposed to be "state of the art" lane set-up....

They closed because their rent doubled to like 1.2 mil.

Isn't lucky strike just a cosmic bowling center? To attract a non-traditional bowling crowd.
