New coaching tip on bowl4fun.com
« on: August 05, 2003, 10:41:18 PM »
I just put up a new tip on bowl4fun. I have been a little slow posting tips lately because I have been so busy. I hope you find this a good one that will make up for it.
This tip has a lot of large pictures and it may take too long to load. If some of you will, please post how long it takes for the page to fully load for you.
Thank you and bowl great!!

Hey, Ron!

Great tip! This just happens to be what my husband and I are working on with our coach right now, so it was very timely. The page took a whopping 6 seconds to fully load for me with my cable modem connection.

You guys must be on a high-traffic cable provider.  The page loaded almost immediately for me, no noticeable waiting time at all.

quote:
The lane and its’ long parallel lines often play tricks with your eyes and your head and this is one of those times. Even if you start out facing the right direction the lane gets into your head and you will often start to square yourself with the foul line as you make your approach. Those two long gutters that outline the lane seem to turn in toward the head pin.

BINGO!

Thanks, Ron!  Can't wait to try out your suggestions...

Bones I called the Postmaster General and he tells me that he has noticed that some of his mail carriers that happen to be bowlers have bought new cars (your checks) and that they are all using Ron C's Magic Carpet (yes that gets lost in the mail too sometimes). My only hope is that they will try drinking Docs Elixir.

Anyone using dialup that has time the page load time?????
Bowl great gang!

This is an excellent tip . My a game is the gutter shot . Over the past 2 years , I have become a better bowler . To everyone out there , you must venture out your comfort zone and learn to play anywhere on the lanes .

I love throwing the big hook , when the lanes dictate to go deep inside .

Happy Bowling !

That is just the tip I was looking for . I could just kick myself for not checking here before I went to practice today.

Between me working on a stronger release and the lanes not getting as much oil during the summer, I've been seeing my ball fly left on many occasions during my summer practice sessions.

I realised last week that it was a good opportunity to practice an inside line, something that I haven't played much during the last year. First time trying it I had a lot of trouble with throwing inside as you said in the article. I finally gave up and picked up my timberwolf and played my normal shot with that.

Today was a little revelation since I finally figured out to square up with my line. I actually found more area than I have seen all year. One shot that is burned into my mind, I had thrown it outside by 3 boards and thought "okay that's going to leave something bad" and promptly turned around. Only to hear it fly back into the pocket for a strike.

The reason I figured out what was wrong was because I was standing at the line with my arm swinging beside me (after releasing the ball) and I noticed it was swinging parallel to the boards. I don't know how I'd imagined that would ever get the ball out to my right

Excellent tip though

Btw, you've forgotten to change the title name of the page. The current title is "working through a slump" like one of your previous tips.

Ron, on my poor old dial up connection (56K modem, V92, running at 45.2 kbps at 5:30 P.M. EDT) it took exactly 5 minutes to load it all completely. I sure wish I had a cable modem (not offered) or a DSL (we're too far from the CO)!!!

An excellent tip as we face the too dry too often!

I just got DSL tonight.

I'm ticked, I think it was 1 second to 1.2 seconds for this thing to come up.
I must be on a slow DSL connection.

With my old dial up I think it would be about 6 minutes!
What was the matter with my 56K modem.?!

Another great tip magic man!

REgards,

LuckyLefty,
I learned a lesson from your post. Don't eat cereal while reading post.
When I got to your PS line I about spewed all over my monitor. That was funny.

Thanks for the responses folks. I had no idea so many people had fast internet already.

Great tip Ron.  I am a little disappointed that you used my likeness as Abner without my permission, though.
