Newly Stripped Lanes - What to expect?
« on: July 29, 2005, 02:25:52 AM »

  Ok all, a general question.

I stopped by my league alley yesterday and they were stripping the wood lanes.
Boy, could you smell the chemicals - whew!

Anyway, for the upcoming leagues this weekend, how should I expect the conditions
to change? (If at all.)

Thanks!

Well my house just went through the process about a month ago.  I bowled the day after they where done and what I saw was an violent turn off of the synthetics heads that we have.  Basically the finish will be soft for a while so the ball will react very hard to the friction.  The major issue I had was the transition as the oil carried down...the lanes became very touchy.

I would be that a dull urethane ball would kill a shot like that though...
