Oddest Split
« on: May 18, 2005, 11:26:13 AM »
I must say I have left quote a few wierd splits over the past few years, but this just happened to me again today and I was wondering how many of you leave odd things...the 4-count split, 3-4-6-7-9-10...Ive left the 3-4, the 2-6...many other things but I am sure im not alone...

i dont know if it is qualified as a split but it was definitly wierd and unusual... I was picking 10 pins off of full racks and threw one shot a little off mark, the ball should have gotten the 6,9,10 but instead the 10 got launched back out of the pit and took out the 5 and the 8... lets see you leave that ..... sadly i was not "manly " and decided to practice my 7 pin conversion as well.... wink wink

One of my personal favorites is the 3-4

Also saw someone go dead through the 3 pin and leave the 1-2-4-6-7-10...VERY strange leave.

I saw another bowler with very slow ball speed leave the 7-8-9-10 on a pocket shot.  Although not a split it is sure an unusual leave.

I didn't see the shot that left it, but the 2-3-8-9 were what was left for the second ball. That's right, a double-wood split. I couldn't believe my eyes on that one. The fellow who left it was puzzled, too. He didn't cover it, though. He left the 8-pin. Definitely the oddest split I've ever seen.

A woman on my team this past season in the scratch league left a 4-5-6-7-10 by coming in flat and light while skidding the 6 pin slightly to the right.

Most interesting that I have seen.

I just bowled the Peterson Classic last weekend and left the 2-3-6 twice on the same lane. I don't know of any other place where you could take out the 1 without the 2 or 3 falling over.

Not that odd a split, but I've seen my driller (a righty) leave a 6 - 8 (the lefty version of a 4 - 9) by hitting very close to solid pocket.

one day during warm ups i let one get a little wide. the ball barley hit the 6 pin which fell straight over into the 5 which fell into the 1 pin. the 2,3,4,7,8,9. thats the strangest for me.
