Oil on Tshirt
« on: September 26, 2011, 02:56:22 AM »
Any suggestion on getting Bowling oil of of Tshirts.....

TIDE with bleach not working and getting tired of having the replace my Tshirts...

I know somebody else has to be having the same problem but then again my center does seem suspect when it comes to oil....

GOOP hand cleaner rubbed into the stain works for me.

Pick ball up in two hands, spin in one hand while holding towel against ball with other hand.  Do this before cradling it against your side to remove oil.

What is oil and how can there be so much it ends up on your shirt?

Seriously, just take some dish soap and rub it into the shirt before you throw it in the wash. It pre-treats with no side effects.

Stop wearing white (or colors that show it)?

Pre-treat the shirt with Dawn dishwashing soap immediately upon taking off the shirt. When you or wife or girlfriend wash it 1 - 5 days later, there will be a lot less oil on the shirt. Dawn is the best for something like this.

You could probably spray it with a household degreaser, like Simple Green or 409 or  one of the Orange oil cleaners, but you might discolor the shirt. Test on an inconspicuous spot before treating the whole shirt.

Dawn, 409 and others are great answer because bleach and tide dont work...  I need to stop wearing bright colors and that will help also..  Thanks for the help...
