PDA Bowling Software
« on: September 11, 2003, 12:53:31 AM »
I'm looking for a little help here.  Recently I saw a couple of bowlers using their PDA's during a tournament to track their shots.  I even had one of them show me how it worked.  Since then, I have become more intrigued, but I neglected to write down information on the actual software or which PDA it runs on.  I even saw an ad for the software in one of the bowling magazines but I forget which one (it was probably BTM).  If any of you knows what I am talking about, I'd appreciate it if you could give me information such as the name of the software, who makes it, along with a web address, if possible.  Also, what PDA does it run on?

BTW, I have already done some searches on the web without any success.

Thanks in advance for any information that anyone here can provide.

I went to the page about "Frames" and read up on it.  It sounded like a great program so I got out my old PDA and stuck some batteries in it.  I was pretty sure it would be too old to work with "Frames", but much to my amazement, it has the right OS and it will work fine.  I installed all of the software into my computer and the HotSync works great too.  After loading tons of contacts and dates and stuff, I am now ready to go download "Frames".  I will post an update after I use it a while.  Thanks for posting the site.

I have used Frames since it was first announced in BTM. It is flippin' wonderful! Especially useful in keeping track of which spares you miss, so you can practice on those. The most difficult thing to do is to remember to enter each frames information at the end of each frame, instead of simply sitting down. Otherwise, you forget which pins you left. I run it on a Palm m515.

Thanks for the replies, guys.  I haven't even got a PDA yet, but "Frames" may just be the thing that motivates me to get one.

Dicnic, thanks for the info. on which PDA you are running "Frames" on.  I suspect that information may be helpful to me eventually.
