Pin drilled IN ring finger
« on: January 27, 2008, 12:20:34 PM »
I have a ball that I bought from someone with the pin drilled into the ring finger.  So essentially, there is no pin?  Anyways, I was just wondering if I could still drill the ball and have it react ok.  Thanks,

Sure, doesn't change anything.  As long as you know which finger he drilled into then you are fine.

Sure, the pin is just an indicator of the top of the core.  After you plug the ring finger, have the pro shop drill out a small hole (3/8"?) and fill it with plug of a contrasting color.

Yes, it will be fine. I've got 4 or 5 balls drilled similarly.

All the pin is, is a marker. What matters is where it's placed relative to your PAP and the other graphic measurements (CG, MB) on the ball. For instance, if you want to drill a ball 4x4 and that ends up putting the pin "in" one of the holes, no big deal. Just drill it out.
