Playing the track
« on: August 13, 2003, 09:31:10 PM »
What is wrong with playing the track if it is the best part of the lane to score on with your game?

I keep reading post putting down a player for playing the track area. I’ll play the track if it is the best line to the pocket and produces the best carry for me. If it is not then I’ll play somewhere else on the lane.

Why would you play some other area of the lane if it wasn’t be best line to the pocket?

Sure there are players who can only throw at a target between the first and second arrows and even if there was the world’s biggest wall at 3rd arrow they couldn’t or wouldn’t move there. But don’t assume that they cannot. And I haven't seen a player around here that averages over 220 who couldn't.

The smart players play where they can score the highest not a line just to prove they can play somewhere else.

Secondly I guess I live in a different world but while I see weaker release players playing hook monsters in the track area around here they are not the top dogs. They maybe able to average 210 but the top bowlers average wise all throw much more ball and play deeper. I don’t really see the top bowlers being beat (in average)  by the low rev player.

PS. While not considered real heavy handed I generally have to play deeper than most other bowlers so I’m not protecting my turf.
