Playing your house Shot

 Just curious do most of you generally start out with a solid ball first and then move on to a pearl or hybrid next ? Or do you just go with what's striking in shadow ball ? I tried what was striking in practice which was a pearl. Went 248 first game Curux Pearl. Second game it was 5 ten pins and strikes mixed in. Ball looked great hitting the pocket made small adjustments but just could not carry. Wondering if I took the wrong approach. Finished the night with 663 but I was frustrated.

It's going to vary a lot depending on the bowler and lane conditions.

Mine normally is try to stay outside with something weaker but be ready to jump inside with a stronger ball

Solid,Hybrid,pearl,does it really matter? I look for hook shape depending on how it plays out each night. I say cover,core and layout matters the most.
I start out with a sanded hybrid or a polished solid and end up with the weakest ball I have in the bag. sometimes it's my spare ball.

This....  all the high scores in my house are bowlers going down and in. Type of ball is based on the bowler but as long as people are consistent, the down and in shot doesn’t go away.

Being an equipment junkie.

I figure out my lane surface and lane pattern and bring the appropriate equipment.

After a few weeks I will bring 4 of the same type of reaction that I need but with varying cores and covers, finishes. I also bring a 5th ball, typically weaker and polished for the bracket finals.

For example,
One local house has synthetics but a low volume THS that hooks. So everything is polished...

Respect hybrid
Eon
Honey Badger
Respect pearl

(Haven't completely switched over to 900)
Polished devour OR uproar

In a situation where everything hooks the most I need is a respect.

The other center is higher volume synthetics so a more balanced bag exists, subbing the weak ball for a high end sanded ball like a critical.

All in all I trybto exploit and hack what the condition is calling for and load up on it. Besides I can adjust on a THS...

There are 2 houses in the town I live in. One of them is nice synthetic, but super wet dry. I can't play the friction because it's too dry, can't play the puddle because it's too wet, so I have to really go around the pattern. I like my On with surface, then ball down to a Drift. Lots of flare, lots of torque.

Now, in house 2, the torquey stuff doesn't work. I can keep my angles a little more closed, so I can use an X or Booyah. When I step left, then I break out a polished Black Ops.

Just started a just for fun league mostly for league priced open games at dirt house by the college (near work) and so far pretty much just use my Purple Hammer.  Its predictable and plenty strong and mostly because their lane machines in the past kind of suck and chewed on a few of my reactives.  Plus the oil there is usually on light side and spotty as hell (often with flying backends) so always been my house of choice for urethane.  Other better houses in area use the rest of my arsenal saving my strongest pieces for the Bowlero which has the most oil.

It's a crap shoot, lanes are never oiled the same way twice. Oil machine break-down, or stripper issue, buffer not working, etc... preventive maintenance goes a long way. lol!

My house is extremely wet dry as well. Down and in players dominate it. I like to slow hook it, my natural game. My tour iq solid pin down blends out the wet dry the best till last game when I have to get so deep that I start leaving weak tens. Anything pearl or shiny just gives me over, under reaction. If I go with hyroads, higher rg stuff that stores energy, it just hooks uncontrollably off the spot.  Any suggestions?

But what strikes in shadow is I slow roll my Blue Dot up 1st arrow just to get loosened up   ;D

It’s the way to go. I’m estimating some but I’m pretty sure the top 10-15 averages in our league start outside of 10

My pearl is the house shot killer. I was looking for something smoother for short patterns on sport shot. Was considering a urethane but the AD solid is cheaper and probably better fits my style
