Possible NYC area get together???

I was wondering if anyone from the site lived around/near/on staten island, and may be interested in getting together at a local center in New Jersey to have a fun tourney or just bowl for a day.  Let me know if anyone is interested...my friend V12 lives near me, so it would be fun to meet some of the guys/gals from the site.  reply!!!

I'd be interested if anyone decides on a date and what center.

I'm in North Jersey so I doubt it would be much of an issue getting to any of these centers. A couple more centers that might be worth checking out are Rockaway Lanes in Rockaway, and Eagle Rock Lanes in West Orange.

Sounds good!  I'm in Queens and Jersey isn't that much of a problem (I do a lot of fishin in Jersey).  I can ask a couple of my bowling friends to join me.

CURRENT INFO!

Next Level PS has said yes to either thursday or friday.  charlest has said yes to thursday between 10am and 3:30pm, which was pretty much the exact time me and V12 were going to shoot for if it works out.

Dagnabbit, I'm working those hours (10-6).  If it were held late that evening, it wouldn't be a problem (since I work downtown Brooklyn the trip would be ideal).  My RDO's are Sat and Sun unless you decide to do this much later in the evening.  As it stands, I have to decline.

heres the problem...the prices are ridiculous to bowl late or on weekends...its $4+ a game, which would be crazy.  charlest, i'd rather keep it for thursday, and pay $2.00 a game, and get whoever can come.  if it works out, then we can set up another one much easier in the future, and get more people to join us.  so far it looks like 4 of us, and that isnt terrible considering we did this in 2 days.  as long as thursday is still good, me, V12, you and Next Lavel PS can get together and bowl for a few hours...maybe the others that still havent replied will say yes too.

Date tentativley scheduled for Thursday, 11AM, at Jersey Lanes in Elizabeth, NJ.  charlest, Next Level PS, myself and V12 will be attending.

I am still waiting for responses from DavidKNSK, SirLefty, and HammerBowler.

I would do it if it was at night or on the weekend, especially if it is at Woodbridge lanes since that is where I bowl on my Thursday night winter league

woodbridge is a little expensive on the weekends and at night...all places are.  doing it during the day is much cheaper...and ive found woodbridge to be kind of easy, especially with the AMF lanes.  if you cant make it this thursday, we may try and do another one before the summer is over.

If price is an issue, another very nice place to bowl is Carolier (Brunswick Zone) on Rt 1, North bound, at Rt 130 (about 5-7 miles South of Rt 287).

On Sunday mornings, you can bowl for $1.25 per games, until Noon. One must usually get there before 10 AM to get a pair of lanes. They open at 9 AM. It's a good alternative. They usually oil; lanes are Anvillanes, one of the most slippery.

carolier is a nice place to bowl...ive bowled there on leagues before, and tommy semiz drills my stuff there.  sunday mornings is a great deal, but nothing beats linden lanes...$1 per game up until noon all summer.  once the winter leagues start though, im not sure because of leagues.  if we ever do one of these during the winter, ill be bowling sunday mornings at linden anyway.  ill see you at jersye lanes thursday charlest.

Jersey isn't too far for us, but I hate big city driving.
NYC scares me. went there once to meet an internet buddy. She got angry when I made her drive us back to the bus station she picked us up at. We don't have public transportation in our area. She expected me to hop a bus, I was afraid we'd get off the wrong place and be in deep trouble.
I know back roads to Atlantic City, only bad traffic is going around trenton. Give me them old country roads. (smile)
Love driving along the river.
Near 78, isn't bad. My son doesn't mind that type ride.
Are there still lanes in the casino in AC? Now that'd be cool. Where the pros used to go? Can't remember name.
