Proper grip
« on: December 22, 2004, 12:17:59 AM »
I bowl league with a guy who's proshop fitted his ball with the finger tip grip but the thumb only in to the knuckle instead of all the way. He averages 207 so it must work. Does anybody else do this, any advantages?

Half way to no thumb which means more revs.  Usually a little less control.

Believe it or not, years ago Andy Veripappa suggested this to me.  Tried it finally a couple of years back, didn't like it.

yes an ex proffesional tommy kress bowls that way. he was on tour for about 5 years, wasn't cashing so he left tour. he averages about 230. 2 years ago he had high in the city with 245. maybe an easy shot, but 245 anywhere is good regardless of thre shot. just thought i'd throw that out
