Question about polish...
« on: September 29, 2007, 06:03:50 AM »
How long does it last on a bowling ball?  How often do you need to get a touchup polish on the ball?  And I've heard of Bean's secret sauce.  Can someone elaborate the difference between the sauce and typical polishes?

It depends on how much friction you see.  If you bowl on old wood, you may have to re-polish every 6-9 games.  If you bowling on well maintained synthetics, it might be every 40-50 games.  It's a combination of being able to get a good look at your track looking for wear and knowing your ball's reaction.

Bean's sauce looks and feels different, but does the same job as other polishes.  They all add length and generally add some back end snap.  Energy conservation.  Skid more in the oil saving energy to be unleashed on the dry.

I was told by an independent tester that will be doing an article about polishes and cleaners in the Bowler's Journal in the next couple months that my polish tested to read the friction harder than other polishes. This means more backend and the Sauce also will allow the ball to not squirt as much as wax based polishes. The best thing to do is just try it. You can order a sample on my website www.beansproshop.com

The sample is enough to do 2-4 balls depending on your polishing technique.  beans
