New oil maching, more oil, now carrydown
« on: January 18, 2015, 11:16:10 AM »
This is a house I have been practicing at, and probably will be shooting their next year as it's closer.

They got a new oil machine, 40 ft Christmas tree that now seems like much more oil (claim to be same pattern, but they admit this machine puts out more oil).

Anyway, my Cyclone used to be fine at both houses (my league and practice). Now it's not what I will need at the new house. At best it's now down/in at 7, and when carrydown hits, it's useless.

I have ordered a Motiv Sigma Sting and do have Cyclone GB to drill (solid 10.7 cover at 2000)...but wondering what else you might suggest. I do like the Assassin Widow Legend.

Light/dry have been the norm here, now at least 1 house is showing some.

Because if I started further right, it went through the nose. When you're bowling on walled up conditions, you want to create room.  Forget the ideal line. Drifting in my case helped me get more room to miss. Starting right did not fix it. I had 1 600 the first 2 1/2 months of the season. Since then I have 1 series under 650 and 4 straight 700 series and over. Drifting is what did this for me. On my other league, I walk straight.
I personally would never suggest to someone they should start drifting right as the solution to a particular shot.  All drifting right does is put you at a spot at the line further right than you started.  Why not just start further right and keep your regular approach?
Here was the solution. Drift right.

I'm referring to walking to the right during the approach. Most important are the last steps going right not the early steps. Again I made this adjustment because my ball was hanging when I missed right.
Is it drifting right or is it walking a straight line and going right?

Yeah it will change the line. It gave me a wider area to hit. What ever you call it I averaged 240 in January doing it. I'm not sure what's going on with the original poster, but all I can say is I've tried everything. I tried changing timing, ball speed, height I hold the ball, tilt, wrist cock. The only thing that got my ball to come back with a miss right was drifting right with my feet especially the closer I got to the line.

Again I don't do this in my other league. 2 years ago I had to move my feet left to stop over/under.
