Sport Pattern/Tournament Shot arsenal
« on: July 24, 2016, 09:36:46 PM »
League is fun but tournaments have become something I'm becoming more and more interested in. With that said, I'm looking to get a tournament bag together.

First piece im picking up is the Hammer Black Hammer. Bowled on Cheetah today and definitely needed a urethane. Now my second purchase is where I'm a bit unsure. I'm thinking of polishing the Haywire that I have which is drilled pin-up and picking up another heavy oil ball drilled pin down like a Warrior Supreme.

My current Arsenal is in sig and quick stats in bio. Just looking to pick up any tips to building a tournament bag.
Current Rotation:
PhysiX
Code X
Code Black
Axiom Pearl
Phaze III
Trend
IQ Tour

In my opinion anyone bowling in tournaments should have an IQ Tour in their bag.  It really is the Swiss Army knife of bowling balls.

Cant argue against the IQ Tour.  Seems like every style likes it.  I like the Paradox really well with surface modifications to fit your own game.  The reason is that it is strong but continuous without being jumpy off the end of the oil.  In all honesty it is more about your roll pattern than the specific balls.

How about this, what's in YOUR tournament bag? (Ball, drilling, and surface)

For shorter patterns, I have a Darkness, King Cobra, and Booyah. Mediums, War Eagle, Night Hawk SE, and a Boost. Long, Network, Dream On, Incinerate.

I am in the process of replacing most of my gear due to dropping from 16 lbs to 15 lbs last season.

I have a Lock, IQ Tour, Ride, Freeze, Lights Out and spare.  with a myriad of others at 16 I could bring if I know I might need.  my Virtual Gravity being one I might bring if I know the pattern is on the heavier side.

I am looking to add a stronger pearl, perhaps the snap lock, and a good medium.  the Black Ops is intriguing to me.

Also have the Black Hammer
pin down Arson low flare
Columbia disruption pin down
Game breaker 2 - benchmark piece for sure - pin in middle finger (fav layout)
Tour Sic with 2" pin-pap which is for playing for straight on tougher patterns
Swerve - pin in middle finger, goes through the pins like no other
Severe delirium - pin above fingers
Legion solid - awesome ball - pin in middle finger
Paradox - pin up, very surprising piece that has motion in all phases

change up surfaces all the time
Best thing I ever did was get a spinner for home use....

Alpha crux and paradox on longer and medium patterns.  IQ tour solid for short and medium patterns.  Viral solid on shorter patterns and some lower volume medium patterns.  Pitch blue on short patterns.
