Staff Position Resume

Can anyone who has applied for staff and got it or just applied PM to help with how to layout the cover letter and resume? Just have some questions. Thanks!

why so negative in here? Gizmo has done nothing wrong when responding on this topic. He made a mistake a week or 2 ago and admitted he was wrong.

I really think it has to fall back on who you know. I have the largest pro shop in Wyoming and have an employee who throw 100% Motiv, averaging 228 and has pushed Motiv to be my number 2 selling brand behind Storm and he cannot get on staff. I do not believe we have any Motiv staffers in Wyoming. Probably falls back to where in the h. e. Double hockey sticks is Wyoming and do they even have bowling centers there! He deserves a chance as he has pushed there products very well.

I understand what you mean here! I like to always look at the business side of things in sports and such and this situation jumps out to me. If I was to put this type of information into a resume wouldn't they be better off not putting me on staff? If I already push their product, only throw their equipment, and perform well while doing it. What would be their incentive to give me a job basically doing the same thing I'm already doing for free to them?

Maybe as a reward and incentive for him to keep promoting them?  Lock the guy up so somebody else can't take him?  Why would they want somebody who doesn't know their product or hasn't shown an interest in it?

At the same time, I get what you're saying, it's the "why buy the cow when you're getting the milk for free," concept, but if you don't put guys who are passionate about your brand on your staff, who else would you put on it?

What would you be if you were attached to another object by an inclined plane, wrapped helically around an axis?

This is the criteria from a major brand manager:

"We select staff players based on bowling ability, bowling accomplishments, tournament schedule, involvement in a bowling center and/or pro shop, and location. The typical staffer has a 220+ league average, bowls in 2-3 leagues per week and 20+ tournaments per year, and has some involvement in a bowling center or pro shop."

Yeah, this is probably the best all encompassing statement about getting on staff with someone.
