« on: September 12, 2003, 08:32:29 AM »
What do I need to do to prevent swollen fingers?? I went to league tonight and my fingers were swollen and I could barely get them in the ball. My thumb fit fine, but my fingers didnt! What can I do to fix or prevent this??

Do you wear a wrist support? When I first started wearing one I wore it to tight and my fingers would swell.

If you use finger inserts, before your fingers swelled up, how tight a fit were they in your fingerholes?  Sometimes having small or tight finger inserts may cause this.

I have the same problem with long blocks.  What I do is go with a size larger on my inserts so the fingers will fit once they swell up.  I just have the pro shop glue the front and sides of the inserts and put a shim between the back of the finger grip and the ball to tighten it up.  You can use swizzle sticks, straws, or even a paper match stick as a shim.

I was just looking through an issue of BTM and saw an ad in there for Steel Fingers. It claims to reduce pain and SWELLING, anyone use them or have experience with them??
