This is just cool!

I bowled in a local mixed tournament last weekend and managed to get my first sanctioned 200 game and my first sanctioned 500 series. Today I bowled the doubles/singles part of the event, and the tournament coordinators had actually gone to the trouble to gather together my awards to present them to me on the lanes prior to the start of our squad.

I waited three months for my only previous award, and it was just handed to me in passing before league. I pretty much anticipated the same thing this time, so the recognition coming only a week after the accomplishment and during the same tournament really blew me away!

I know 200s and 500s are nothing to most of you, and probably don't mean much to most of the people bowling in this tournament, but heck, I gotta start somewhere!

Congratulations on a nice game and series.  Impressive that you shot those in a tournament for your high scores.  That was a nice touch by your association to get you the awards that quickly and have them presented at the tournament.

Great job bowling in a tournament for personal highs!

Remember, we all had to reach these milestones at one time.
We all had our first 200 and 500 at one time or another.

Debina,

Congratulations on your first 200 and 500!  The first ones are always the hardest to come by.  I remember my first 600 as if it were yesterday (actually it was 28 years ago) and my first 200 (August 1973), but can't remember my first 500.  You have every right to be excited.

Way to go Debina.  First time is always the hardest, hope they start coming in droves now.

I think it was real nice of the association to present your awards the way they did.  Recently one of our bowlers earned an honor score award.  The house just dropped it off at the table he was sitting at.  After I had a few words with the management, they called him up front and presented the ring in a more appropriate manner.

That's the great thing about bowling, no matter what your high series is, theres always a higher series waiting in the wings.

Aww ...

You folks are great! Thanks for all the kind words!

After shooting that on Oct. 19, I had deja vu on Monday, Oct. 20, in league play ... 200+ and 500+ again! Imagine my surprise when after going for months just missing the marks (literally and figuratively) time after time, I managed to hit both of them two days in a row. Needless to say, I still have a little glow going.

P.S. Right now I'm first in my tournament division (Handicapped -- 170 and below) all events. I hope it holds!

Congratulations!

Every new personal best is exciting and you should be proud of your accomplishment.

Reaching new levels helps to build confidence which I feel is a very important part of the game.

Nice bowling.
My misses is at your stage of scoring. Shes just gone from back up to regular hook and shes not had a 200 or a 500 bowling like this yet. Shes been close a couple of times and shes been really exited about it as have I and the other bowlers at my lanes. So I know how good you feel.
Weight off your shoulders now and I bet there are more to come.
