For the past 6 weeks or more, I've been in a bad slump that I can't seem to fix. It is more than just a simple slump, there is a bunch of crap wrong with my release, I don't know what is wrong myself. I'm rolling over the thumbhole and loosing ball reaction and leaving nasty stuff alot more than I should. I normally average in the low to mid 190s, but the past few weeks it has been low 500 series.
If I have a bad game than I feel totally lost and my attitude goes down the drain. Last night I shot 149, 172, 201. I don't know how I managed to start rolling over my thumbhole every single shot. Normally I'd clip it, but that would be it. It is very audible rolling down the lane. I know I'm throwing a fullroller since I don't hear it as the ball clears the heads, but I hear it when it gets to the backend sometimes. Should I have all my equipment plugged and redrilled full roller? I'm currently using a "The one" , Paradigm, and original x-factor. Sometimes I shoot a good semiroller release, and sometimes I throw the loud, noisy fullroller or most of the time its in between the two.
Are fullrollers doomed? Every proshop owner or coach will talk very very very negatively about full rollers, yet there is one in my league that has the only league 800 series, highest league average, and more 700s than anyone. I notice that storm balls drilling sheets don't have any options for full rollers.
It is hard for me to fix this problem. I'm not by any means the most graceful person out there and I'm just very clumsy. Very seriously thinking about quitting this sport. I'm just fed up.
