Hi Milenko. I've never actually set up a traveling league (but am working on one now), but I have set up several leagues and tournaments. If you are interested in making it happen, you could start by following these steps.
1) Contact the league coordinator or manager in each of the 7 centers. You really want to find one other person in each center whether they work there or not that is as ambitious as you are about getting this going.
2) Ask each center, or set up a meeting with 1 person from each center to find out good days/times to run this league. If it is going to be highly competitive, you'll want to find a day/time that there aren't any other competitive leagues going on.
3) Make the flyer up NOW. You really want to get this flyer out in the next couple of weeks to get people talking about it so they can commit for next season. Another option is to start the league later in the season, perhaps in mid to late October, and hit up all of the bowlers during the early part of the season to get it going. Trio or 4-person teams might be best at first.
Other ideas:
--You could try it in the summer time.
--You could hold tryouts at each center and make it like a traveling all-star league. Perhaps each center gets 2 teams.
--Having the support of 7 centers, you could try to get sponsors which will be advertised in all 7 centers.
--Traveling Sport league?
There's really so much you can do with this idea, so have fun with it. Traveling leagues are probably the wave of the future as there are fewer competitive bowlers per center than in the past.
The key here is to NOT depend on center management to help you promote. I've made this mistake several times, and 99% of the time they are lame ducks. Finding that one person per center that is ambitious about this league is the key.
