trouble with bowlers
« on: August 27, 2003, 10:26:27 PM »
Has anybody had troubles finding someone to bowl with this year? I have a problem with one bowler not keeping a job and here in less than 2 weeks the season will start.

It's just a part of the game.  Seems like every year, no matter which league you are on, at least 1/3 are trying to fill in the gaps come the first night or two.  We are short 1 guy on my Tues. nite league, Full on Monday, and I think our Thurs. team is full, maybe need 1 at most.

As for the guy having trouble holding his job, cut him some slack... I'm sure he'd rather bowl, but when it comes time to put food on the table sacrifices sometimes have to be made.  Maybe he can stay on as a sub?

I understand if people don't want too.  Problem I have is when a guy tells you he can for a year then bails one week before the league starts.  Get some honor.  We have a guy right now just lost his job.  He thinks he may have found a new one, but they may make him work evenings.  So, he would have to quit.  He is being a stand up guy though.  Let us know as soon as he knew and even agreed to make sure he bowled atleast next week and let us know one way or the other then.

I don't really play cards and I am not 79, but it fits together somehow.

I've been looking for a bowler all summer. I've talked to lots of people, but it's always no.
WE had a sub fill in last night, and I'll pay for him to fill in again next week...
I've been asking my teammates all summer, and last night, the first night of league, they finally come up with some ideas!
GRRR!!!!

Darn!

Well,my story(aka reply) is so so,I've been asked
a gazillion times(aka a bunch)within several years
of my miskey mouse practice psycho days and nights.

Here COMES the story part,NOW I that I(aka bonehead me)
decides ta join,THEY DISSAPPEAR!!!

Ok,where did all those peeps go?To another bowling alley?

Now I need a partner.

Of well, worse case scenario,I guess the league coordinator(aka team maker)
will pick someone for me out of a hat or a bowl or something!

This is a VERY famous reason I dont bowl leagues!

I can never get a team ready, when I want to.The timing is horrible.
I mean peeps get job schedule conflicts, wife conflicts.Husband ones too!
Peeps leave to another part of the world, usually another state.

So you can kiss your/my future complete taem(I typed that too fast) goodbye.

Annnnnn,someday,I'll get it right.

I hope I dont let down my partner(aka whoever they pick out of the hat) in the doubles league.

I'm gonna reply somewherze elze.

Maybe not,I,m going to ZZZland and get some rest!I have a Large Day tomorrow!
