Are you looking for some validation from people in your neighborhood? "Look, there goes kidlost2000. He's a bowler! Isn't he dreamy?" Is that what you need or crave? Well, I don't and I don't think a lot of people really care what others think about bowling. I love it, will continue to do it, and the rest be damned.

The sport is and will be a joke to most for many reason we all get that. At least you do love participating in it, I know I do.

Yes, I love having my wife and others ask why do you bowl, that is as white trash as you can get. I can't argue  with it. She has gone with me to league or tournaments and well it is what it is.

*Alls I look for USBC to do is have some decent rules that can be enforced.

*Awards for achievements in the sport that are decent.(honor score rings, ect) Instead of getting rid of the few awards that are rare achievements such has 7-10 split and ect make it an option, those awards can't cost more then a couple of dollars total a year at most for USBC.

*The ability to keep the competitive sport going.(through rules and tournaments ect)

I think USBC isn't able to do this because it is run by idiots. Most companies are. Cut back on all the useless stuff that people don't want, and stick to being a governing body that makes rules, gives out a few awards and creates interest in bowling.

I love it, will continue to do it, and the rest be damned. Agreed. It would be more enjoyable if more people were getting into bowling then getting out.

Sounds like nobody's happy with USBC.

The biggest problem I see is the disconnect between the local associations and the recreational bowlers.  We send in our money for dues, but don't see much in return.  The local associations need to communicate to the recreational bowlers just what the heck they are doing for the sport.  I know they're needed to maintain the integrity of the sport (without them it would be a leisure activity).  But they need to be out there, in contact, and more in touch with people paying the dues.  Maybe a newsletter informing bowlers of center certifications and other activities and why these activities are important.  Or maybe open meetings up to invite bowlers.  The first three years I was bowling I had no idea what they did with the membership fees.  The key to any successful relationship: communicate, communicate, communicate.

Which is why the USBC will no longer exist.
