I ran out of the cache I had built up from old deals, so I have to buy one now I guess.    What is the best size, and where do you get em?

Mr. Lebowski, this is Bill Salnicker with the Southern Cal Bowling League, and I just got a, an informal report, that a member of your team, uh, Walter Sobchak, drew a firearm during league play. If this is true of course, it contravenes a number of the league's by-laws, and article 27 of the league...

if you get some bowling ball boxes (which most pro shops toss out everyday) and go to post office they have a size that fits tightly around bowling ball and perfectly inside normal ball box. i am lucky where i work that there is a company that send our engineers samples in boxes that fit perfectly around outside of ball box. but in a pinch i do the above.

9x9x9 will work on all except for L&LM bowling balls(if packaging them with origional box). ULINE is the cheapest by far....sometimes they run specials for .41 each if you buy 2 bundles.

You can try your pro shop too ... they throw them away after getting in shipments.

Take the 4 ball cases from pro shops and undo the flap section that is glued, making one long piece. Cut it in half leaving 2 identical pieces. Take one piece and wrap it around the ball box, making 2 cuts for the flaps on each end and tape the side where it meets. Works great and is free unless the pro shop won't give you their leftovers.

Wow. I feel like an idiot now. I've been wasting $3 a box at my local store. $.40 a box online!? I gotta go online now!

Lol, that's horrible! But yeah, pro shops throw those boxes away everyday.
