Vise Insertion tool not coming out of ball - HELP !

Have drill 100's of balls and the first time this happened. It is spinning but will not release. It will not budge. Ball is an expensive overseas ball and I dont want to mess to much. Has anyone ever run into this .  Any suggestions .

Have you tried securing the ball on the drill press and then using a hammer or something else to hit up on it?
