Vise Tape
« on: November 03, 2003, 09:30:25 PM »
Does anyone use any of the various Vise Tapes available? I was looking at most of them and they all pretty much do the same thing or at least thats what it looks like since all the covers say the same thing. Are they different or do they practically do the same job? I want to get some for my fingers and my thumb. There are ones that are specifically for your fingers and for your thumb but then there are some that look like they cover most anything on your hand. Which ones are best? Any input would be much appreciated.

I use the Vise skin protection tape and I love it. It is thin enough so that the inserts in my ball dont feel tighter but yet still protects and assists in giving me a nice clean release!!

Has anyone tried using any of these new taps along with Ron C's Magic Carpet?

I've been using this stuff, because my friend got some samples and it's really good actually. I haven't tried the vise brand but i have used the Turbo Power supplies and it's quite good. It stays where you put it and it lasts through a league no problem. The beige tape is semi coarse for fitting to make your ball thumb a little tighter, and the green is more coarse, it is a little bit thicker. it gives you a great smooth relase like advertised. There are two other types, the smooth slippery, type which is good for sticking and hanging up occasionally, and there is the other type with is with small dots and it's very tacky good for the base of the thumb when it's a cold winter morning and your skin is dry it's better than rosin. The tape is about 12-18 dollars depending on type and size. but it's very reliable and you put it on and forget about it.

worth a try for sure. I'm going to get some more and try the Vise and more of the Turbo tapes, also ebonite has the same tapes too.

But just a note, it is actually all the same tape. It's all from ABS of Japan.
