vote on the best heavy oil ball
« on: April 30, 2006, 10:47:49 AM »
I cant decide between Epic Battle, BIG ONE, or Seek and Destroy. Im looking for something that'll hook in the heaviest of oils when nothing else will hook.

so far BIG ONE:6
       Battle:7
       Seek and Destroy:2
       Action:2
       RSP:2
       Total shock & Awe:2
       Passion:7
       Visionary AMB solid particle:3
       Yeah Baby:1
       Big Bang:1
       Trifecta:1
       Majestic zone II:1
       Scorchin' Inferno:1
       Time Zone:1
       Goliath:1
       Swamp monster:1
       Robo Rule:1
       Rule GP2:3
       EPX T1:3

will update when I get votes

If you can find it then get it the warp zone its a high particle ball will a strong asymetrical weight block.  Or newer stuff the strike zone or scorchin the scorchin is a very strong ball and the surface that it is at already is a bit strong.

The WZ is a medium-load particle ball with a medium-strength asymmetric core.  The Goliath and Swamp Monster both have higher particle loads, and you'd have to look for a while to find something with a higher particle load than the Swamp Monster.

Out of those balls the BigOne would be the choice... However since it has the strongest oil absorption rating of any ball, and is reactive resin... this ball may suck up alot of oil and die out fast.

The EPX-T1 by Columbia is without a doubt the most hooking ball on the market.
Read this to understand why. http://www.columbia300.com/innovation/techdocs.cfm?id=21

Its an epoxy coverstock, and unlike reactive resin, soaking this ball in hot water will get all the oil out of this super soaker coverstock once it beomes full.  Columbia designed this ball so that it would roll on heavy oil, and yet you could still extract the oil and revive the ball back to OOB potential.   Its that easy.. a hot water bath  every 20 or 30 games or so, and the ball will roll through "ANY" heavy pattern and recover from "ANY" out of bounds flood.

Plus it carries unbelievably well, even though a few cracked int eh beginning the mixture has been finally perfected and all of them from the new batch are doing extremely well.  Mine is....

Currently in the bag:

EPX-T1 - Stacked Leverage - Heavy oil
Action - Stacked Leverage - Heavy to Medium
Inferno - 1:30 Label - Medium
Smoking Inferno - 11:00 drill - Medium to Dry
White Dot - Spare ball

I'm gonna ask him on tuesday, I talked to micheal chen during pepsi and he suggested the battle, although I have a feeling that hes gonna suggest the BIG BANG, sinse he stocks lanemasters stuff, Brandon said the Seek and Destroy, and I couldnt get a straigth answer from Thomas (he was too busy). I am planning to swing it alot if I use during leaugue.(need to work on my really deep shot for TNC and duncan and sandcastle) I actually might  get the BIG BANG because it looks sweet.

The biggest hooker in oil nobody knows anything about, is the AMB Particle.  I decided to try one out, pin 2 1/2 inches above bridge cg center of grip.  My PAP is 5 1/2 x 0.  On a 42 foot pattern, at box finish, I could not keep it on the right side of the head pin.  I had to sand up to 1000 and put a high coat of polish just to get the ball down the lane.  PLUS.........the ball comes with a warning label on it saying only for use when nothing else will hook.  That should tell you something.

If you want the ball that is proven and well known, go with the Big One.  If you want what you are asking, go with the AMB Particle.
