vote on the best heavy oil ball
« on: April 30, 2006, 10:47:49 AM »
I cant decide between Epic Battle, BIG ONE, or Seek and Destroy. Im looking for something that'll hook in the heaviest of oils when nothing else will hook.

so far BIG ONE:6
       Battle:7
       Seek and Destroy:2
       Action:2
       RSP:2
       Total shock & Awe:2
       Passion:7
       Visionary AMB solid particle:3
       Yeah Baby:1
       Big Bang:1
       Trifecta:1
       Majestic zone II:1
       Scorchin' Inferno:1
       Time Zone:1
       Goliath:1
       Swamp monster:1
       Robo Rule:1
       Rule GP2:3
       EPX T1:3

will update when I get votes

My brother used the BIG one at the minieliminator in las vegas in january this year. the big one could hook through that monster sport pattern like it was nothing.

OK.  First of yes a ball does hook in oil.  You just may not be seeing it.
For you survey I would say fresh heavy oil shot the EPX T-1
now in reading the thread you say you need this for after the transition with carry down then I say the Action.

the EPX may burn up to quick if not enough oil in the heads

For me, Xxxcel and Big One with Xxxcel is the best bet since it's medium load particle sand.  The Big One is fine but I feel if it's REALLY heavy oil, you still need to rely on particle coverstock.

Personally, I don't need those.  I've the Midnight Scorcher.  It's work wonder for me

The Midnight Scorcher is a particle ball but it does have some unique particles - they swell up when exposed to oil.  The heavier the oil, the more pronounced the particles get.

But, since that one is discontinued, I would say the AMB particle.

I had an Apex Obsession at about 400 grit and that thing started rolling out at the arrows. I've never seen a stronger or earlier rolling ball than the
Obsession. YOu could probably get one cheap on ebay or something

I would recommend any of the following three bowling balls:

Track GP2
Track Robo Rule
Roto Grip Epic Battle

I don't think the Big One is a true heavy oil ball. On floods, I don't think it comes back all the way consistently. Of my three suggestions, the Track Robo Rule is the most flexible, second would be the Epic Battle. The GP2 is a flood only type of bowling ball. It must have a lot of oil to work.

Epic Battle.

That ball just packs so much of a punch and clears oil like it's not even there.
