Website Update

Any one else not happy with the update. The site now looks amateurish and cheap. Please god change it back.

Now it seems the "latest posts" are all together, assuming by time.  They are no longer grouped by forum.  Again, I personally think it's very hard to navigate this way.  A great majority are in the For Sale/Wanted forums, most of which are unnecessary TTT's.  I don't care to look through 14 pages of "new" posts just to find the ones not pertaining to selling equipment.

I also noticed that there is no way to quote the original post. I suppose thats really not needed as it follows on the top of every page. but its just something I noticed (not even sure if it was possible before but obvious to me now)

What is the easiest way to quote just part of someone's message?

Edited to remove bit about missing cursor - it's back now.

That does do a bit of help there!  Good call and thanks!  Still wish they would make the top menu docked and everything else scrolls beneath it.  I think that would be really handy!

If you are using Mozilla Firefox download add-ons NoScript and AdBlock and you won't see all the ads.

I was surprised by the new layout. It looks more modern, but all the advertising banners are gruesome. O.K, somehow this thing has to be financed, but loading pages takes considerably more time, and consequently navigation has IMHO suffered. Still checking and testing, but that's my first impresion so far.

If you're tired of advertisements, go to a place that has none. =o)

I was surprised to get the following message when going to Ballreviews using Firefox with Adblock Plus:

We've detected that you are using an ad-blocking software. Please be aware that this site is 100% advertisment supported. Without the ads, this site would not exist. In order for you to access this site, you must turn off your ad blocking software.

I'm very disappointed in this change. To use this site you're asking me to disable Ad blocking software. There are very well documented cases of viruses be spread through ads on websites. These viruses can be spread without having to click on the ads. Just having them load on the page is enough to do damage - for examples of this read http://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/yahoo-fox-and-google-inadvertently-spread-malware-through-ads/

I'm not sure I'm willing to allow my computer to become more vulnerable to viruses so I can participate on this website. I may venture back here a time or two to see if the site admin has any comment on this. Otherwise this may be the last time I post or read Ballreviews for quite some time unless this policy changes.
