Why does the 8 pin mock me so?

In all my years of bowling I only seem to "stone" an 8 when something is on the line.  Whether it be the game, a big series, strike pot, or like last night when a stone 8 in the 9th frame took a 290 game and the strike pot away in one unlucky swoop.  I had been in the pocket all night, blowing rack after rack, nothing cheap.  I get up in the 9th, crush the pocket, and see the ball brush the 8 as it goes off the deck.

I say we ban the 8 pin!  Anyone else with me?

I concur

that 8 pin has cost me many of 290+ games.

Seems that the 8 is my most common front 8 front 9 leave.

I remember last year i started back 2 back stone 8s off the sheet.


I agree lets remove the 8 pin from the deck.

Don't get me started with those darn 8 pins. I think out of the 20 weeks that I have bowled in my league that I must of had at least ten 8 pins after hammering the pocket.

How about this. 8Pin in the 8th frame of the 3rd game has cost me 800 twice in the past 5 weeks.

Well guys I have your answer. If you have been flush in the pocket for 6 frames straight, move like one board left! Just to keep that ball from driving too hard. Know what I mean? (Let the ranting begin)
