Have you thought about taking some hand out of the ball?

plastic balls are harder than urethane or resin but how much wear is in the track area of your blue dot ? it may need resurfacing to get a smoother surface that doesn't bite the lane so much.

Agreed. I have seen worn lanes with literally no oil applied and a Blue Dot handled it fine for a person with a good amoutn of hand.

What part of the lane were you playing? sometimes moving into 5th or even 6th arrow with a blue dot can help you find JUST enough oil to delay the hook and get some hit back at the pocket.

Try throwing the ball as straight as you can and just try and get 9 and pick up the spares. Nobody else is stringing strikes and they are shooting tough spares or splits. A 185 looks pretty good compared to the 150's.

Sorry I read your post wrong. I thought you didn't have a shot to the pocket. I have a XXXL with a strong layout and have had great success with it.

Hey thanks guys for the replys.
I had a shot to the hole no matter how I threw the ball.Carrying the corners was the tough part. The only way to carry was to rev the hell out of it so it would have some drive but this got very tireing.I was just wanting some opinions on something like a xxxl or any piece of equip, maybe a polishing technique so I could throw the ball more relaxed or flat and still have some drive through the hole.

Greg,Charlest I dont know if the ball is tracked up or not I havnt check it yet,but I know what your talking about if the track is burnt up on it.I have a target zone that is tracked up bad and basicly burns its self up looks like no reaction or flair.

I had the high game and we won the game I just want to be better prepaired next time exspecialy if its more than one game. This realy showed me how out of shape I am LOL and to think I turn 30 this coming sunday.

Ill check back and see what ideas yall have. Thanks

Was the plastic ball burning up?

By the way...that was what lanes were always like around here in the early 1970s.

Ron c
the ball looked to have a even arc,no skid snap so it may have been rolling out just a touch when I was throwing it flat as per your tips "pinky out index finger in tight" I always use this release on the second shift because of the heads.this works great with reactive equipment but not so good with the plastic.I think this is because of the wieght block being weak.As stated when I went to a strong release and high ball speed it would carry.I struck out from the seventh frame to shoot 209 but felt realy wore out afterward. This is why I am trying to find something different because I dont think I can do it for three or more games consecutive with out being fatigued.I guess I say the ball was hooking to much because I am use to being able to throw plastic and have more options as to how and where to throw it.

I was grinding it out and was content on spareing it out but the other team was getting the breaks and was looking like we were going to lose so I had to find a way to strike. This I did but would just like to have more options next time because if they were any drier I would be screwed because I was already up against the ball return and standing 50 on the left lane I hate to loft the gutters.

It looks like my options are buy a xxxl or polish the heck out of the blue dot. After I make sure its not tracked up real bad
