What is the best Bracket and Tournament software ?
« on: August 08, 2015, 09:17:53 AM »
I am wondering what everyone believes the best bowling bracket and tournament software are. Was thinking of investing in one for the future, but just don't want to buy a random one and lose my money.

I would like to know this as well. I have BTM and Tbrac. Tbrac was a waste of money and have had issues with the bracket portion of BTM. Has to be something out there.

I have both Tbrac and Braxion.  T-brac is a software that take a lot of use to get good at using it.  I have had no problems with it once I got used to it.  It runs tournaments with little effort if you set up the tournament properly.  Braxion is the best bracket software i have ever used.  It is easy and very quick to learn.  With this software you can only do brackets and side pots however.  You can not run the tournament with it.

The majority of bowlers don't run bracket operations, so it's not surprising there are few replies.

Small operations can usually get by with a piece of paper and a deck of cards or a spreadsheet like this:

So Unless someone is running a league or tournament which would justify the expense of the software, most wouldn't have need for it .

The simple thing would be see what software you see people in the league using and go with that.

Most leagues and tournaments around here use the cde software

Braxion is not expensive.  I believe it is only $150 so very affordable.

Hey cory867...You can use braxion to run small sweepers or singles tournaments. What you do is set up a second jackpot group (you can name it "tournament standings") Put all your entries in that group. Make sure you check the "include totals" box. And set number of games bowled as "1". Also check the "show all scores" box in the print section. After you enter the scores for game 1 it will print a running total. Then, before you enter game 2, go back to set up and reset games bowled to "2" and so on. It's very easy once you get used to it. You also need to set an entry and a payout. You can use the tournament entry, or just make something up as I usually trim that part off before I post the  standings anyways. Mess with it a little...you'll figure it out.

Another kudo for Braxion. Very easy to run, have run almost 40 scratch and handicap simulateounsly during a tournament with no problems. I have also run quite a few brackets while league bowling and it is very user friendly. Would highly reccomend it. Had it for over 10 years now
