What is the best low end ball on the market right now?
« on: December 06, 2009, 07:02:26 AM »
Not counting the urethanes, what is the best ball in the low end right now?

I like the low end stuff, because I don't have enough speed for the stronger surfaces - they roll out at 40 feet. I've been thinking of getting a new ball, but I don't have any idea what to get.

Right now in the bag I have a Tropical Storm and an Ebonite Clash.

What else would anyone recommend? And why?

Columbia Freeze is a strong ball at a low price point. Has the momentum cover with a weaker(not by much)core. Mine @ OOB gets good length and hits like a truck.

The Freeze is a great ball for the money, maybe check out the Avalanche line.  I'm not sure if you're lacking anything but I'm guessing you really don't have a need or want something much stronger than your current stuff even if it is mid-priced.  The Avalanche Solid might be a little more ball than what you have, and smoother if you want to go that way.  Or if you're just looking for a new ball just because I say look at the new Avalanche Pearl, most seem to like it.

Having seen the Vibes in action, you simply cannot beat the performance for the price.
Easily drilled, easily tunable coverstocks, and inexpensive makes this another "sleeper ball" like the original Power Grooves were.........

i dont own one yet but the vibes are all over my league oynx being the strongest the emerald is the weaker 1 guy has 5 300''s and 2 800''s this season with the oynx, santa is bringing me the onyx.a bowler rolls the emerald and i believe he is 210 or more average 16 weeks in. i bowled next to him this past week and he is low rev /low speed and the thing really rips the rack keeps pins low and i didnt see many corner pin spares from him. the vibes run $120
including drilling best bang for the buck around my neck of the woods.cant wait to get mine!
