Which flight would you bowl?
« on: October 26, 2013, 02:58:36 AM »
So this is just kind of one of those dilemmas that I always come across when it comes to bowling in tournaments.  Here's my situation.

I have a tournament that I am going to be bowling in tomorrow, It is approximately a 2 hour drive to the bowling center.  There are 4 different flights on Saturday and 1 flight on Sunday.  On Saturday the flights are 10am noon 2pm and 4pm.  On Sunday the flight is 8 am.  followed by two "desperado" squads where if you have failed to qualify in any of the other squads you can bowl 1 game against however many more people join, Highest game gets into the finals.  The finals are then bowled right after the desperado squad.

Each Squad gets fresh oil, top 2 qualifiers from each squad are guaranteed to make the finals.  You are allowed to bowl as many squads as you want (at 80 bucks a pop).  The desperado squads are 25 bucks but you must have bowled one of the other 5 squads to qualify for the desperado squad.

Now me personally I'm going to be bowling the noon squad because I don't like mornings and I want to give myself a good chance to wake up before the tournament.  I also want to give myself that chance watch people bowl in the first flight if I get there soon enough.  And get a rough estimate of how to play the shot.    It also gives me the ability to bowl in later squads if I don't do well enough in the noon squad.

So if it was you in this situation, what squad(s) do you bowl, and what are your reasons?
