Which is the Best ball or balls for Long oil right now?
« on: March 27, 2014, 05:58:43 AM »
Let me know,

I think one of the. Best options is zero gravity storm...?

What do you think?

And so far I like this angle 55x4.3/8x45

 :) :)

Ok, I will be more specific about how is the condition down here:

Not good clean Lane. They use authority 22 Brunswick machine.

It had reaction in the backend, but it seems to feel a little dirty at the heads, so the ball don't get easy into the roll and that's why a lot of ten pin.
Yesterday a play with the Marvel S at 500 abralon (by hand) finish. 6.games = 1.298 (15 ten pin) I play with this ball 4 and half games then I change to my iQ tour pearl (1000 abralon finish)

Game zone over the 5 board to exit eye 3 board, in other words... Straight and Hook.

My style:
450rpm, 19mph speed, tilt 17, 65 axis.

I try the sync, doesn't work for me.
I try the nexus f+p (the first one) works but I ritired that ball.

And now I wast thinking in the gravity zero, but I'm not sure.

It depends on the bowler and his specs. For me (18.5-19 mph, ~450 rpm) it has been the Crazy Antics once there is a bit of friction built up. To start I usually have a Smack Down. This is referring to sport patterns, on a long THS the Crazy Antics would be my go to with the polish knocked-off.

According to Storm, the Sync is for true heavy oil; Zero gravity is for medium to medium-heavy oil.

The Brunswick Mastermind is a great ball for true heavy oil.

The Sync and the Mastermind are probably the two best known balls for true heavy oil right now.

For floods, Hyper Cell or Zero Gravity. For symmetrical, I would say AMF Darkness or Incinerate.

long oil is different than heavy oil. most long patterns are light oil so you dont want a super soaker. you want something like a byte or totally defiant or defiant soul. the marvel-s wouldnt be bad for fresh.

I have the zero gravity ... you would have to take the cover down for it to be a *true* heavy oil ball... 4000 rolls good on a true medium condition

If it is just long patterns and not a huge volume of oil I read an article and went to a seminar from Joe Slowinski and he was explaining that for longer oil patterns don't throw out the idea of pearls, obviously depending on bowler ability. Because you need the ball to hook late and that is a pearl or a hybrid with more pearl in it than solid i.e. some Defiant Souls. Pearlized equipment I would think of is Storm Byte, Motiv Rage.
If its high volume of oil as well there is nothing on the market I wouldn't put my DV8 ruckus fued up against for total hook.

Yeah I'm playing with the Marvel S... There's not transition on those lanes,  bad cleaning job by the machine and the bowling center or federetion don't care about it lol.

I'm looking for something strong in the middle pin down the  ring finger maybe.

Somebody told me about de totally defiant, but I try the forts one and don't like me at all, then I try the soul perfect for medium with clean heads.

Hahaha what else?
