Which PBA bowler has the muscled swing & bent elbow ?
« on: December 24, 2006, 09:51:49 PM »
I've been trying to think what his name was for a while now. Whats the PBA bowler with the "worst" form ? I cannot think of his name to same my life ..lol

He's got the bent elbow and he muscles the ball...older bowler...maybe in his late 40's ?

Ron Williams? Made several shows in the early '90's but I don't think he's been on recently.

robert smith comes to mind.  Awhile back somebody posted a link to where he was throwing the 600 and 650 rpm shots.  If you pause the video right before the release his elbow is severly bent.  You can see why he is now injured.

Yes I know that but the reason he has to throw it that hard is because of all the revs ala the bent elbow among other factors.  Without the speed his shot would be totally unplayable.

Mark Williams not Ron had the bent elbow style.

Ron Williams runs a pro shop in Fort Worth at Don Carter Cityview.  He is my ball driller.  I see him in leagues at Hurst Bowl and Brunswick Wautauga every now and then.

He is known for a bent elbow style that is hard to describe, but mostly the bent elbow was on the backswing but he transitions to a conventional downswing.

The only true bent elbow style (backswing and downswing) was Don Carter and I watched him win a tournament over Dick Weber in Arlington in 1962.  Other than Ron Williams, the strangest style I ever saw.

the most muscled delivery i've ever seen would be that of john hricsina on the pba senoir tour----this guy really powers the ball. it's hard to believe that he's over 60 years of age !

Matts Karlsson and Wayne Webb, when he had the ball dangling from his hand in 87.

It was Ron Williams... his swing was the most strange thing that you'd imagine.... but he was pretty damn good there for a few years. Made a lot of shows.
