Which set of lanes is your nemesis?
« on: April 21, 2006, 01:38:04 AM »

Which two lanes in your house is your arch-enemy?

I bowl in a 24 lane house, this season the evil lanes for me are 7,8. I
keep my statistics all season long and lane scoring. I just noticed that my
three worst nights have all been on lanes 7 and 8 this year. In fact, it is
lanes 7 and 8 that are the major determining factor of my season average. Take
those series out of the totals and my average goes up about 4 pins. (That
is a large statistical jump, 9 games against 93 games....sheesh...)

One of the houses we bowled in (its since closed down and trying now after 5 years to be beborn) was made of from lanes transported from at least two alleys.  It ended up being a 32 lane house, but the lanes from 25 to 32 were from house B.  25 and 26 were brutal.  Absolutely totally brutal.  No one beat the blind team on that pair...ever.

Normally the pairs on the end of a house are more difficult due to less play, doors, drafts and the fact that the lane machine may or maynot be totally prepped by the time its run.

One local house now has the first dozen or so lanes being very tough, while the rest of the 32 are so easy the highest averages in the association are shot there.  Will the scratch league move to the beginning pairs?????  NO WAY!!!

Rainer Lanes 11 & 12 are the worst pair for lefties one night you can go a low 500 or high 600 and if your real lucky get a 700.  Also the end pair with the wall 6 in. off the edge of the appoach.  I tend to hit my balance arm on it.  Actually have given myself  bloody knuckles. (brick)

I saw the comment about never beat the blind team...we had a pair in a house one I bowled in(31 and 32).  AND a team quit and the last place team that was left bowled the absent team the last 3 weeks in position round matches...ALWAYS 31 and 32..  Just like above...never met the blind minimum score rule...lost every week.

Also before that a guy averaging 238 went to that pair and shot...was it 495...or 505.

Truly....junk!
