I'm bowling, and bowling WIBC nationals on May 12-13.
Let's hook up if possible!

I just got my squad time info yesterday...was a little surprised to see that they have made the decision to skip the cut to the top 1/4 of the field unless that had over 300 entries.  If they don't get 300, then it is the 10 games of qualifying and straight to match play.

The other surprise, if I skimmed over the sheet correctly, is that they are going to strip and reoil between each squad.  I always thought that part of the challenge was in figuring out who could perform as they started to get a little scorched (or as scorched as they can be after only 10 games).

Michelle,
I had to read that a couple of times too. I'm still not completely clear on the match play/qualifying thing - I guess it just makes them not have to work so hard if they have less than 300 entries.

Also - they're stripping and oiling after every OTHER squad - they did that last year too. There are squads at 9, noon, 4, and 7. They will be oiling before 9 and before 4 each day. My squads are 9 and noon, so I hit fresh the first day, and take off where I left the second.

What are your squad times?

yeah, that was my bad on the re-oil.  I misread the sheet.

I've got an early shift on Saturday and noon on Sunday.

On the cut straight to match play, it makes sense if they don't have the extra five games if they are only looking to cut a few people out of the picture.  Even with 300, that says top quarter is only 75 looking for the 63 spots.  I think my entry number was in the low 200's, and I think they wound up around 280 last year.
