Who else got the USBC Columbia House-esque dvd offer?
« on: October 08, 2013, 03:02:44 PM »
Here's a dvd, if you want to keep it, here's what it will cost you.  Really?  USBC isn't making money, and sending out dvds trying to farm more money from people is their solution?  That's what they're spending money on?  I couldn't send that thing back fast enough, didn't even watch it.  What a joke.  How much is it costing them per member to send those things out?  Actually a little offended, being forced to send the dvd back or be charged for it.  What does everybody else think about it?
What would you be if you were attached to another object by an inclined plane, wrapped helically around an axis?

If they sent it to you without your permission, or asking for it. Then you don't have to pay for it, OR send it back. Thats on them.

Ditto on what Sevinpin said! Yes and I was offended also. They harrassed the heck out me to send it back!

I kept it out of spite.

We had the same thing happen with a magazine ( People I think it was). They kept sending bills for a magazine we weren't getting and had never ordered. Eventually my wife took there bill and sent it back to them with a nasty letter telling them they weren't getting a dime and if they sent another they would be hearing from our lawyer. Haven't seen one since lol.

They sent out instructional dvd's a few seasons back. I didn't ask for them to send it to me nor did I send it back to them since I never ordered it in the first place. Yeah, BS to me. If I didn't order it I'm not paying for it and I'm not paying to ship it back.

I actually keep and buy the dvd's they send. There is alot of great tips that I apply to my game. I also apply the coaching information to become a better coach. However , with all of that being said. I find it to be bull crap that they are now making local associations buy awards. I also find it to be crap that they took away 299 and 298 rings. You can still get them , but you must buy them. Now , we will get into the kicker. Starting August 1st , 2014. All honor score awards will be a once in a lifetime thing. I find this to be total nonsense. I honestly look for alot of non sanctioned leagues and tournaments to start up in the coming years. They keep charging us more to sanction , and keep taking things from us. This is all just my personal opinion.

I got a DVD about a year ago.  You had to read the fine print that said it was a gift and they could not make you pay for it.  I also got 3 follow up letters from them wanting it back. USBC wasted a lot money.  I kept the video because I didn't like their tactics for trying to get me to buy it.  It's a good video, but they could have promoted it a lot better than the way they did.

I like Columbia 300 Guy have bought and paid for all the DVD's.
A lot of information and insights that I would have seen or heard about.
The Kegal DVD was excellent both with a persons game, but inside info as well.
As in life, the more info the better decision you can make.
Bowl well my friends.

It's against the law for someone to send you something that you did not ask for and then demand money.  Even if you receive it, you don't have to send it back.

RayRay
If you have the billing info there is a 1-800 # to call for issues.
I had an issue with a DVD and they took care of it rather quickly.
Usually there will be these problems dealing with the number of product their working with.
