Why was I attacked?
« on: November 07, 2006, 11:33:07 PM »
Hey whats up everyone? I was just wondering about why I was attacked for posting a review on the ball Shock & Awe I thought this web site and the reviews in particular was your OPINION of the ball and what YOU were seeing the ball do on the lane with each bowlers indiviual drill pattern and style of play.
Not long after I posted the review another user ''lane1who'' posted a review that said '' please never review a ball again.'' I have been bowling for 17 years and I have been ridiculed for alot of stuff but this is just stupid. I may not have posted the best review of the ball but I was giving my findings after throwing the ball for 4 months. Why am I attacked for posting my opinion on a ball?

It wasn't the greatest review, but it was far from the worst.  There are some oddly bitter people here.  It's pretty obvious who they are.  The worst part is that he didn't send you a PM or make a post about what he thought was a poor review.  He made a "review" expressing his complaint.

Uh, I am surprised to be listed as a benchmark writer (*bow*). Well, IMHO it is very important to be as specific as possible about the ball, its setup, the conditions you played it on and your style. This is hard to provide, since one might for instance only guess the conditions at hand.

I would not call your review "bad" - but it does not yield much reference for the readers to make a judgement about relative strength, performance etc.. Inverted 1 is correct about this, and this is IMHO constructive critics.
I also read the follow-up by lane1who when it appeared shortly afterwards, and I was not pleased by this "gesture", since I had the impression that you were writing about your personal experience with the ball. Do not take it personally. I guess it is someone else with a problem about your review

Bowl great!

As a long time member here, my thoughts are, most if not all are tired of the "hits like a truck, carries everything review"  ball reviews are nice, but if you dont share information that would allow an individual to make an educated decision based upon your words, what good is the review.  I frequent another site for the most part, but our reviews are all on a template format, you fill in certain info concerning yourself, layout, conditons, then you add your 2 cents in on the review, then after all that, your review needs to be approved.  by reading some really great reviews, you will find the information that most look for, by including that information, your reviews will garner respect, but until then "hits like a truck" gets youa thumbs down from most all users

Not surprised. If you've read any of his posts you'd see a trend. lane1who is an Internet Thug. Don't make him angry. He'll beat you down with his keyboard.

Hey guys sorry about the crappy reviews I have posted I will go back and edit or re-write them all together were necssary. I will add more detail or at least what detail I can about lane conditions and ball lay out though I don't know all that much about the latter but I will try me best. thanks for the constructive criticism and support!

Thank you for saying this. What cracks me up is that most people that would get on this guy about his review wouldnt go buy a ball because of someones review off of here.

Your review was better than some of the other ones for the Shock & Awe...

I'm baffled.
