Wichita gathering during WIBC...
« on: May 08, 2004, 01:52:11 AM »

I know that mumzie and myself have to be out there next week, and I was thinking we had a few others that were bowling.

Shall we try to structure some type of get-together?  I'm bowling team and singles/doubles on Thursday and Friday (don't recall the specific times though) but would have some down time on Thursday and Friday.

thoughts? comments?

Michelle and everyone that's going to be there...
I'm finally on line - but probably only for part of today until I get to Wichita on the 10th. I'll message YOU with my cell number. If you wouldn't mind coordinating, I'd LOVE to get together in Wichita, just call me and let me know when.
I'm bowling team on the 12th, subbing on team on the 13th, and d/s on the 13th. Practice session on the 14th, and A squad for queens on the 15th and 16th.
Call me - lets work out a time for everyone to get together.

Jan just faxed me some of the paperwork, and I am bowling Team on the 13th at 9AM and the D/S on Friday at 12:30PM.

I'm uncertain about squad for Queens since I was late in sending in my entry...they actually told me just to bring the check to them on Thursday instead of sending it to the tournament office.  Entries seemed very low compared to the last one I bowled, but Karen seemed confident they would add another 100 or so in the next week...

My wife, Michelle, is bowling Team on the 11th at 7:00 pm and D/S on the 12th at 12:30pm.  She also has D squad for the Queens which starts Saturday at 7:00pm and Sunday at 4:00pm with a Friday meeting at 6:00 pm and practice from 8-9pm.  We live in Wichita and would like to get together whenever you are available in the evenings.  I will be the funny looking guy chasing around a 5-year old girl and a 2-year old boy.

I should be available most days this week. ksucat is probably is more socially adept on picking places to meet. Don’t let him kid you he’s a stud of a young man.

I'm getting to much vacation time built up and I'm going to lose some if I don't take it. So I'm taking Wednesday off and plan on looking up Mumzie and Michelle during their team events.

If she had said they had blown into town it would have been literal. The wind has been blowing hard (yes even for Kansas) the last week and today it’s 25 with gust to 35. RV traveling at its finest.

Mumzie – Got your PM will call you later.

I arrived at the Thunderbird lanes just after they had started the first game. Within  a short period of time I had found KB743 and her husband. Within a few minutes Mumzie had shown up as well with her husband and strapping young boy.

The shot is a little touchy, some definite OB, but KB743 looked to have a reasonable reaction. She has a very solid game and made many good shots. She was however generally punished for any errors in execution and struggled some with scoring her first two games and then had a good third game shooting a respectable series on the condition.

Mumzie bowled in the next squad. Again you can see the basis of a solid game, however Mumzie ball reaction was very poor on the condition with only slight mistakes in her physical game giving wildly different reactions and like KB743 her mistakes were all costly generally resulting in splits and washouts. Most of the other bowlers on her pair were struggling as well. After numerous ball and line changes she finally got lined up in the third game and had a reasonable reaction to the pocket however carry was still somewhat of an issue.

She is bowling another team event today and I’m sure with what she learned yesterday (and without me around since I’m like a black cat) today’s event will go better.

Michelle is bowling in the early squad today and I believe I can get down during my lunch hour to meet up with her.

It was good meeting up with some of the users on the board and putting faces with their names. Although I’m sure they had just as soon not seen my ugly mug. After watching them bowl I’ll keep my sorry little hack game at home.

They also got a greeting of Midwest severe weather last night. Our first real outbreak of the season. We must have had 6 or 7 tornados in an 8 county area, fortunately no one hurt seriously. Of course lots of hail and torrential rains with local flooding. I’m sure Michelle has experience this before but I don’t know about Mumzie and her family.
