wiedest names of brand/ball etc.
« on: May 13, 2007, 05:43:54 PM »
Hi!

As I am not native spoken English I find it rather amusing to see some names of bowling balls and even brands..

e.g.

Jinx... How can anyone call a ball "unlucky" ...

and what really is making me love is "banger bowling" cause in english a "banger" is kind of a sausage...

What did you fing funny/wierd in the bowling ball/brand names? Tell me.

"Hole Pounder" - Banger

The name, the manufactuer and the logo. Looks like some twisted domi-matrix prosistute sex ring.

"Fat Man" , "Little Boy" - AZO

One of the more underground companies so it only created some controversy. Tell you the truth until I bought the ball I didn't know they were the nukes used on Japan in World War II. Someone wrote to Bowling Digest and had his article printed because he was furious with the names.

"Hardcore XXX" - Circle

The "porn ball?". WTF

Diablo - Storm

Most Americans are not totally dumbfounded on the Spanish language. Naming the ball "satan" is pretty strange.

Generally I don't care what a ball looks like, what it represents or what it says.

For all I care it could say "I love gay men!" and be bright neon green with swirls of voilet. Actully nevermind, that's why I'd never buy "Yeah Baby!" It could be the best ball ever made but I can't throw something named so stupid.

for the most part I don't care what it looks like or says on it, I can't belive it would make a difference to you if it made YOU money. It doesn't for most bowlers.
