worst ball of 2003

What was by far, the most overrated, overpriced, worst hitting, pile if doggie-doo made this year?

Iceemquick. I guess I wasn't specific enough before. I meant without tweaking the cover at all. no sanding, no polish. When I first got it, I sanded with 600, then polished with 1000. Just to get rid of the over/under from the box condiiton. Haven't messed with it since except to clean it. I can use it from a medium heavy oil condiiton, to a broke down light oil condiiton and it works just fine. I am noying I could use it on a totally flodded lane, but with the porper adjustments and a tight enough throw, I could. Same thing with desert dry lanes. Throw it outside, no hand, 18-19 mph, would work just fine.

How some of you feel about your lane 1 products,(which I have nothing against), is how I feel about my inferno. I honestly don't think there is any condition that it can't handle if thrown right. I only have two balls that I carry with me, my inferno, and an old black turbo urethane,(for my spares).

Besides, how often do you run into anything with more oil than a typical house shot, or drier than the third game of a second league of the night?

My worse ball this year is the original X-Factor, with the Lane 1 Blueberry next. Both were total Duds for me.

My best ball was the Lane 1 Emerald with the Ebonite V2 Pearl next. Both are super balls for me.

I was afraid someone would ask this question .. I've used the GOLDEN NUGGET twice .. first time on OIL (med/HVY) .. ball was GREAT .. knew what to expect .. adjusted when necessary .. blew the pins away .. second attempt allies were med/dry ..  different house .. BALL WAS A FLOP! If I wanted a CONDITION SPECIFIC ball .. I would have bought something MUCH CHEAPER .. In my books .. this ball is a FLOP!

IceEmQuick .. above is what I said and you suggested:
------------------------------------------------------------------
I can use my GN from Medium light(VERY highly polished) to Flood(dull) and get a reaction of some sort. Knowing Joe Falco's history of bashing certain balls, I don't put much stock in his reviews,
--------------------------------------------------------------------
I think the difference in our thoughts on the GN is that you suggest ADJUSTING THE COVER FOR CERTAIN CONDITIONS. You are a better man then me .. I don't believe in ADJUSTING THE COVER every time the condition changes .. you do .. you're a better man then me. I don't DISLIKE the lane 1 balls .. I THINK THEY ARE OVER PRICED .. perhaps you heard me say that before ..

If I remember correctly this topic had something to do with WORSE BALL of 2003 .. sorry you don't agree with me .. guess you agree with all the others .. I UNDERSTAND .. I THINK!

Vicious Attack, Obsession, Addiction, and anything made by Columbia.  The absolute worst one had to be the Blazing Inferno, hands down.  Haven't heard ONE good word about it, and one of my buddies had one, and said it was the biggest piece of trash he's ever thrown.  Watching him throw it, yeah, he's right.

LOL, everyball is condition specific.

I nominate everyball made in the 2003.

And LMMFAO at anybody who thinks they can use an inferno on any condition. In a flood, its skid city, and in the dry it rolls out like a champ.

Throttle R totally, ball had WAY to much backend and would never stop or slow down as more games went on it, hit like a truck when at the pocket, just to much work getting it there

Best ball has to be the blazing inferno, ball gets alot of length, has great back end, very controllable, hits great, tons of messenger pins

What would life be like without Columbia and Brunswick?
And Then...........

I left another 10 pin

Which is exactly why you need to know how to adjust. Not just go grab another hook in a box.

I see alot of guys state that the reloaded was a dud, that sounds odd..hmm.
From what I saw the Apex Addiction, Hammer Viscious Attack didn't do much also the Columbia Spirit II bowlers just didnt like this one overall.

This one is EASY.  The Throttle-R.  Worst pile of doggy doo to come out in a while.  Horrible HORRIBLE coverstock core combination.  And it ain't just my experience personally...almost everyone who I have seen throw one has HATED the darn thing.

I love my throttle-r to me it was the bestball ever made. I have been had a blast with mine. Everyone else here loves them. I only now one person that hates his. I went with a 3.5 by 4 drilling it works great for medium oil. Skates to far on heavy oil. To me I love skid snap reactions I put enough hand in the ball I can play any line I want to on medium oil. If you needed the ball to move early forget it. This ball loves oily head and dry backends.
You can send me the throttle series balls you hate I will take them

I'd say the X Factor ReLoaded and all the Optyx balls.  All that money for something to go straight as an arrow?

I wasn't impressed with the Vicious Attack.  It carried well and hit good but didn't hook near as much as Hammer said it would.  It was a great med to med dry for me nothing more.  I traded it for a Bruiser.

That was the only newer piece of equipment I tried this year.
