Greg and others.......relax,...I or anyone else here didn't said anything about that fact that the guy is loaded with talent,...there is no arguing there!

He's probably the best there is........doesn't mean I have to enjoy watching him break the record though....does it?

Athletes' careers are longer in most sports these days, so career records are falling all the time.  I think those of us who follow any sport realize that and

I think part of that is that we know significantly more about coaching and the technical aspects of the game than we did in the past.  In more athletics-oriented sports like (American) football and baseball, training and specialization is a lot more advanced than in years past.  We've studied the games from a scientific perspecitve and understand what types of exercises and training regimens produce certain types of players and how to make those players better.

The same thing applies to lots of other things.  We simply know more now about bowling, what it takes to strike, what makes a good ball, and how to make a ball do a specific thing.

That's not to say that Anthony didn't know all of those things.  I have no doubt that if his heyday were today, then he'd still be up there, winning tournaments, being close to the top of the points and earnings list.  And I think that if WRW's heyday was 40 years ago, he'd still be up at the top as well.
