WTF?!? Am I Crazy?

I hear a lot of people complain when others use urethane or dull equipment.  I hear it messes up the shot for them or why are they using a piece that strong, etc.

Am I missing something, unless it's your teammate why should anyone care if their ball, angle, etc messes up the line for an OPPONENT?

If you complain about what someone else is doing to the shot, what you are really saying is you don't know how to bowl.

Not at all and in fact take note of who is doing it and what their usual line is.  And next time you bowl them be sure to run your strongest oiler right down that line the entire practice session.  That is pretty much my epoxy (total oil sponge) ball's only regular use, messing up lines which haven't had to do lately because my league is chill as hell.

EVERY ball thrown changes the shot to some degree, by either soaking up oil or pushing it down-lane.   We'd better get used to it.

On a side note, if anyone's more concerned about what someone else is doing, rather than their own game, they've already lost.

Since switching to all urethane in one of my leagues Ive shot over every game. I no longer get lost or leave splits left and right and shot a few games over 250. Just in 2 weeks of switching. No one else cares if they screw up my line so why should I?

Dear Abby,

I have a teammate, a fellow lefty that will only use low-grit high-performance balls on a medium volume house shot.  Sure enough, every week he blows a hole in the pattern.  I have mentioned it to him that he (and I) would be better served if he slowed his shot down a little bit and he throws a less aggressive/more mid performance type-of-ball - that the shot would hold up better for he and I.  However, mentally he just can't get there.  It throws his timing off.  He does not want to adjust and people don't change.  How does one get through to him the benefits of not blowing up the pattern with an such aggressive ball?

I am big fan of urethane. I bought Hammer Black Widow and loving it.Its making $$$$ for me.I stay in my lane and cant worry about others.

Yeah in my doubles league since usually have to bring my 7yo hardly have any time to watch other bowlers.  Since its first shift the shot tends to be heavy as opposed to burned up.

Certain balls do pick up  and absorb a good amount of oil like a jackal ghost or a no rules solid.

Certain balls do pick up and move oil further down the lane like urethane.


It does suck, I got this who likes his HP solids at 500 grit, like seriously. So typically league starts out and I'll go 225-250 the first game playing my normal line.

Then for game 2/3, I ship it 2 full arrows left to get inside of his line.  It started out bad for me the first couple times bowling him. It takes ADJUSTMENTS and knowing who you are bowling and what equipment will work best and has worked best in the past. Now I smack him around 😎.

Transition is a fickle b!tch. When you ignore/fight it like I did second game last night, then accept it game 3 you get a series like I had of 214-147-221 lol.
