« on: March 20, 2007, 05:30:55 AM »
alright one of my roommates has an original blade...he is left handed and has had this ball for about 4-5 years...its pretty much the only ball he throws, it prob has over 10000-15000 games on it, he just got a toxic and black widow and he refuses to throw them cuz he doesnt want to get rid of his blade...im trying to figure out wut to do wit that ball, maybe just hide it, or say it cracked and just get rid of it...lol...idk...neone ever have a ball with that many games on it that they still use...i have a 3d hammer with that many games but its retired...lmk ur opinions

Some older balls are pretty good. After all, Norm Duke won the tournament sunday with a Storm Fired Up which was released in April 2005. He may not have played that many games with that particular ball but it shows that the latest high performance balls are not necessary if you have talent. Of course ordinary league bowlers don't have Norm's talent but they play on much easier oil patterns. I myself bowl with a Danger Zone that has about 1300 games on it and my average is 205 on THS.

During league, after he throws the ball, pay the lane mechanic $20 to take the ball before it gets to the ball return, have him hit it with a slege hammer and bring the ball back to him in 2 pieces. Have a camera ready to catch his expression. Better yet, tell him right before that happens that the ball is so old that one of these days it's going to just crack in half.

Just make sure that he's got his new BW with him before you do it.

Invest in a soldering iron, find a well ventilated area, let your creative side kick in and make some fancy etched-in-bowling-ball artwork.  Not that I've done that or something.
