Yea it's pretty popular in FL.  Not so attractive for some bowlers because the handicap format allows for some very unfair advantages because it's not a sanctioned tournament.  It is held at Boardwalk Bowl in Orlando most of the times, and then every couple others are tried in a different area of FL.  Handicap side is 10k for first, thats why they get so many entries, scratch is usually 2k.  Twice a year there are 20k and 4k on top, i believe it's memorial weekend and one other holiday weekend, maybe 4th of july.  But the handicap side is all based on how many sticks the guy wants to give you.  Every tourny you don't make the cut to semi's you get another stick of handicap, so there are guys who average 220+ that have over 20 pins of handicap.  I think the cap is 50 pins for men, so some scores are pretty dumb.  At boardwalk they put a tough pattern out though and it usually takes approximately 630-650 to make the scratch cut.  Tons of brackets and high game pots too.

yea sometimes scratch guys will win both, but everyone in the tournament will get some handicap, some regional guys only have like 6 sticks.
