x-hole question
« on: January 15, 2008, 09:57:19 AM »
i recently got a used, good condition DT high energy. it's laid out pin equal to my ring finger with the cg stacked below. it did have an x-hole. after slugging the thumb and redrilling somewhat into it, i headed out to the lanes. the x-hole was left alone. ball pushed through the heads, revved nicely in the mids-then quit. absolutely nothing. so my question is-after refitting the span to me, could the original x-hole affect the ball's roll? i will give the ball a bath and see what happens. any other suggestions?

Where is the hole in relation to your PAP and how large is the hole?

Not knowing your pap, it is hard to say how much influence the x-hole is having on your reaction.  It may just be the drilling itself that is causing the ball to react this way.

Without your pap, there really is no way of deciding what is due to the drilling and what is due to the x-hole.

as far as the hole, it is exactly 1 inch across and about 2 inches deep. for my PAP, no one has ever told me. is there a formula i can use?

You have to find your PAP first in order to know the affect of the weight hole.  Your local pro shop guy should be able to measure it for you.
