« on: February 22, 2006, 02:23:50 AM »
i am looking at one of these two for the toast i come across in my 4 game league and what i may come across at tournys and nationals.  i have all the balls i need for heavy and med. oils.  i like to throw 17-10 (righty) if the shot allows.  any input would be appreciated.  thanks in advance.  sleeves

For the heat of the desert you need an XXXL.

Reactive with a weaker core or plastic with a stronger core.  No question the XXXL is the better of the 2.

I have both and the XXXL will squirt on you.  But I have not bowled on true dry with them yet.  I think the XXXL is a little pricey for plastic and you can get the Desert Heat for around 90 plus drilling.

For toast, I really like highly-polished urethane or plastic.  Even though the Desert Heat is a really weak ball, it is a reactive-resin and it will respond to dry.  The Desert Heat is awesome for light oil and broken down light oil shots, but if there's nothing at all in the heads, urethane or plastic is the way to go.
