YABA is cool for this
« on: September 07, 2004, 04:41:59 PM »
I think YABA is really cool in the fact that they allow you to hold a ABC card as well as a YABA card at the same time, the only thing is you cannot gamble with the ABC card or receive monetary prizes from a league or tourney.  This really helped me out when I was doing masters/queens finals and indiana/kentucky all stars and i had already promised a team that i would be one of the adults in their adult/youth league.  So for that I am grateful.

You can hold a YABA card at the sametime has a ABC card?

I have always been told differently.

It's only void if the league that you bowl in plays for prize money at the end.  Our league was youth and adult and therefore we only received trophies at the end.  If you throw a ball in the ABC men's league that plays for cash money at the end then it will be void.  You can hold both cards and bowl as a YABA member and an ABC member.  No Bob7 the original post is correct as I have bowled on the team coached by George Webb who is the president of YABA and I had made a lot of phone calls to different people trying to find out because I thought what you did at the time.  But yes it is true you can bowl on both as long as you don't bowl for monetary prizes.

You can sanction it only ABC if you want.  You don't even have to have any one over 18 bowl.  The thing is everyone that bowls, no matter what age (7 to 90) has to bowl for Scholarships, trophies or whatever.  The whatever means everyone gets the same thing.  Balls, shoes, equipment.  No one gets a better ball than the next guy which means 1st Place gets the same ball as last place.

With Scholarships awarded, you can have different amounts for 1st & last place.

Im with stupid.
