No, I find many drillers spend so much time working that they lose much of the talent they originally had for the game. I know my driller is only averaging 197, albeit he is 68 years old, but he is one of the best drillers in town.

My driller averages about 240 on the ths (he's also the laneman) and well over 200 in PBA regionals, though he dropped his card.  BUT, I don't really think being a good driller equates to being a good bowler.  It can certainly help (knowing layouts and ball characteristics is a huge plus), but if you don't have the mechanics down you're not going to be all that great.

Nope.

And good bowlers do not necessarily make good drillers.

Each has its own skill set.

Vernon,

I believe one actually has to be very careful to watch for the opposite, as so many 230-240 average house hacks think they are pro shop drillers.  Like coaching, hand-foot-eye coordination (primary measuring tool of bowling ability) has no relationship to the ability to teach or to drill and suggest balls properly.

There is absolutely no correlation between being a good bowler, and being a good driller.  Same thing with coaches.
