Your greatest bowling accomplishment?
« on: July 30, 2009, 04:48:34 AM »
Lol here's one that will get a million replies . .  Whether you've won a PBA title, or regional, or even if your only accomplishment so far is a 300 on a house shot, I'm curious what people on this site have accomplished.  Doesn't have to be a score, it could be a tournament win, could be a nice few game set, could be mastering a certain look, could be beating a pro, could be successfully figuring out a seemingly impossible shot, what have you.  Or maybe you have more than one that you're proud of, list them all.  As for me . .

I have a 200+ average with both hands.

I've cashed in EVERY SINGLE tournament I've bowled in that has a format of 10 games or more, and I'm talking 25-30 of them.

Bowling in my first adult tournament up in Niagara Falls NY, watching the shot dry up for singles just to grab my plastic spare ball and shoot 278-192-277 for 747 scratch and 801 with cap, it was high enough to win the singles even in my first adult tournament (won singles by 1 pin lol), it was fun cashing 400+ with a plastic ball

That's easy.

Taking my son to his pee-wee league on Tuesday nights this past summer - He's averaging 70 (he's 4, and will be 5 in August), and gets better every week.  It's really cool to see (and makes me proud (Dad thumps chest)).

I can't wait until my son and I can bowl in league together.

so far, I don't have many, but:

My partner and I placed 323rd in doubles at Nationals in 2007.

I placed 96th in all events at a TNBA tourney held at Corolier Lanes in N.J., back in 2006. and......I won 26 out of 26 handicap brackets that I got in.

And now that he kicks your butt bowling, it's even better

I totally agree doing something together with your kids is a lot more rewarding than anything else in this world

quote:

My greatest bowling accomplishment is that my son and I bowl 2 leagues together, and enjoy it thoroughly. Even through his teenage years when we didn't agree on much we could always go bowl and patch up any differences.

All the 300 games and the 800 series pale in comparison.

Coaching other's better than I can bowl myself, guess i should get certified but after years of working with great coach's like Bill Hall, Wendy MacPherson and Renteria.

I am able to watch most bowler's and help them improve, not to the point of Hall but some improvement. When my son starts league I am going to coach kids or just help out.

My biggest bowling accomplishments is:

1.  Bowling 22 strikes in a row en route to bowling 300 and 800 in the same series.

2.  Bowling my highest series (834) with the Brunswick Twisted Fury.

My next immediate goal is to bowl back to back 300's...

only got a few great accomplishments.  Yes they are Figjams I will admit that.

1. Bowling my scratch league and not really noticing what I was doing start out and shoot 300.  I kept going and finished the night off 299, 6 pin 279 7 pin in the 9th frame.  878 total
I found out later that it broke the association record set in 1982 by 1 pin and the man that set it was in the center watching me.  Also found on later that the oil machine was not working right and they had to change the pattern as there was no buff area
2.  Doing are county tourney win team event.  take singles both scratch and handi with no handi. and 4th in doubles. and all events shooting 777,792,671 dang 8 pin cost me 2 800's that day
3.  Doing what my Father asked before he past don't stop my life when he past.  Bowled a 300 the day after he passed away.  That one will always be for him

233-223-247/703 for my first 700.

I have since thrown three more with a high of 756.

I have one real 300 and one fake one (practice) and I have a couple of dream score 279s.

Wow.  I'll say it backwards, wow.  I used to drill . . how long of a day was that?  That's insane.  100 balls in a day would be ridiculous, let alone twice that and then some.
